About Robin

Hello folks!  I'm a registered nurse  of 35 years, currently fulfilling a lifelong dream of travel nursing. I'm also mother to 2 adult daughters and grandmother of 2 newborn baby boys!
Something happened when my girls moved out and I realized I was all alone and felt I had not really discovered who I was or my purpose. My goals had revolved around my children and what was best for them. I had always played it safe, was super conservative and fearful of trying new things. Life was passing me by and I still had no idea who I was or what I wanted in life. I was going to die being mediocre, never having gotten or experienced so many things that I wanted....I'm not really sure when it happened, but I made the decision to explore the world, investigate all that life has to offer, push past my comfort zone, and question my boundaries and self-limiting beliefs.  I was going to be better!
Before I started travel nursing, I took a 6 month sabbatical from the physical and mental stresses of nursing. My dog Chewy and I travelled down the east coast of the United States, from the Fingerlakes, NY to south Florida pulling my RV with "Big Red" my F-350 truck. We enjoyed hiking in Ithaca, NY, kayaking in the Poconos, all while visiting dog-friendly wineries along the way. We spent time lakeside in Williamsburg, VA, and loved our walks on Myrtle Beach, SC, enjoying the sunrises.  We stopped in Tybee Island, GA, Raleigh, NC and Jacksonville, FL meeting new people and doggie friends along the way.
This experience has taught me a resilience I have never known. The trek was not for the faint of heart, there were bumps, bruises, blood, sweat and many tears . After a while I didn't care who saw me cry from frustration as I backed up my 16,000 lb home into it's new location. It was always worth it to be near the body of water of my choice, with a picture perfect view to enjoy for a while.
During this time, I reflected on my life, the good, the bad, mistakes made, and lessons learned. I learned to forgive myself for not being perfect, love the me that I am, all while striving to always be better. I had already adopted a more plant-based diet having been introduced to vegetarianism by my father as a child. I decided to take care of me, mind, body and soul so also incorporated meditation, yoga and a more conscious relationship with "that which is greater" or God, depending on your philosophy.
Although I cannot know everyone's pain and challenges, I have felt extreme devastating loss and loneliness. Losing a parent/best friend, being a divorcee and an empty-nester has left holes that I have had to climb out of and question God and his plans for me.... I am extremely empathic, open-minded, and positive.
